Refund & Returns Policy

At Bagyavathi Sarees, we want you to love every purchase. This policy explains our exchange process and the conditions under which we accept returns. This policy is published in compliance with the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020.

1. Exchange Window

You may request an exchange within 7 calendar days from the date of delivery of your order. Requests made after 7 days will not be accepted.

2. Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for an exchange, the product must be:

  • Unworn — not worn even once for trial or otherwise
  • Unwashed — not laundered, dry-cleaned, or treated with any chemicals
  • Tags intact — all original price tags, brand tags, and packaging labels must be attached
  • Original packaging — the product must be returned in its original packaging (box, bag, or wrapping)
  • Unused accessories — any blouse piece, fall, or edging must be unused and in original condition

We inspect every returned product before approving the exchange. Items that do not meet these criteria will be returned to you and no store credit will be issued.

3. Non-Exchangeable Items

The following items cannot be exchanged:

  • Products on clearance or final sale (clearly marked at the time of purchase)
  • Custom-made or altered sarees (e.g. stitched blouses, customized fall/edging)
  • Products returned after the 7-day exchange window
  • Products damaged due to misuse, improper care, or negligence

4. How to Initiate an Exchange

To request an exchange, follow these steps:

  1. Contact us within 7 days of delivery via one of:
  2. Provide order details: order number, product name, and reason for exchange. Include clear photos if the product is damaged or defective.
  3. Receive return instructions: we will confirm eligibility within 48 hours and share the return shipping address.
  4. Ship the product back: pack the product carefully in its original packaging. Ship via a trackable courier service. Keep the tracking number safe.
  5. Inspection and store credit: once we receive and inspect the product (typically 2-3 business days), we will issue store credit to your account.

5. Refund Method — Store Credit Only

We do not issue cash refunds. Approved returns are refunded as store credit:

  • Store credit is issued for the product's purchase price (excluding any shipping charges paid by us)
  • Store credit is valid for 6 months from the date of issue
  • Store credit can be used to purchase any product on our website
  • If the new product costs more than your store credit, you pay the difference
  • If the new product costs less, the remaining credit stays in your account for future use

6. Damaged or Defective Products

If you receive a damaged, defective, or wrong product, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with clear photographs. We will:

  • Arrange a reverse pickup of the damaged product (we cover return shipping)
  • Send a replacement product at no additional cost
  • If a replacement is unavailable, issue full store credit (including shipping)

Damage claims reported after 48 hours may not be accepted, as we cannot verify whether the damage occurred during transit or afterward.

7. Wrong Item Received

If you receive a different product than what you ordered, contact us within 48 hours. We will arrange a reverse pickup and ship the correct product at no additional cost, or issue full store credit if you prefer.

8. Order Cancellation

8.1 Before Shipping

You can cancel your order before it has been shipped for a full refund (store credit). Contact us as soon as possible — we process orders within 24 hours of payment confirmation, so timely cancellation requests are important.

8.2 After Shipping

Once an order has been shipped, it cannot be cancelled. You may, however, refuse delivery of the package and the product will be returned to us. In such cases, store credit will be issued after we receive the returned package, minus a ₹100 restocking fee to cover shipping costs.

9. Return Shipping Costs

  • For change of mind / size exchanges: customer bears return shipping cost
  • For damaged / defective / wrong items: we cover return shipping (reverse pickup arranged by us)
  • Always use a trackable courier service — we are not responsible for packages lost in transit
  • Original shipping charges (if any) are non-refundable

10. Processing Time

  • Exchange request review: within 48 hours of receiving your request
  • Product inspection after receipt: 2-3 business days
  • Store credit issuance: within 24 hours of inspection approval
  • Replacement dispatch: within 1-2 business days of inspection approval

11. Consumer Protection Compliance

This policy is published in compliance with the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020. If you are dissatisfied with our service and we cannot resolve your complaint within 30 days, you may file a complaint with the Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission.
